Bracelet in silver openwork and cut 800 thousandths, traces of gilding (silver-gilt) and green enamel for the foliage, decorated with 22 garnets,

forming the motif of "the bird defending its nest in the face of a snake", a bird with outstretched wings, resting on the branch of foliage above its nest.

Work around 1850, swan hallmark (silver 800) + owl hallmark 75 (18k gold) on the clasp and traces of old hallmarks on the back of the main motif,

This bracelet is an old transformation, forming a set with the brooch sold separately.

It is a post-romantic production in the style of Jules Wiese and Froment-Meurice: illustrating the theme of the protective bird, symbolizing maternal love, a theme dear to the romantics of the 19th century (theme represented on "the harvest cup " by Froment-Meurice, 1844, Louvre Museum, Paris and on a bracelet by Morel & Duponchel, 1845, Louvre Museum, Paris).

Condition: very fine carving, missing two eggs (probably made of glass paste) in the nest + missing green enamel + traces of silver-gilt in places + missing the security system (chain) of the clasp. This bracelet which is worn has not undergone any current restoration.
