Renaissance - The Renaissance (in Italian: Rinascimento, from ri- "again" and nascere "to be born") is a cultural movement that extended approximately from the 14th to the 17th century, starting in Florence at the end of the Middle Ages and then spreading to the rest of Europe. The term is also used more loosely to refer to the historical period, but since the changes of the Renaissance were not uniform across Europe, this is a general usage.
