This exceptional bar brooch, crafted in 14-carat yellow gold with silver details, combines Victorian elegance with mid-20th-century craftsmanship. Its centerpiece is a remarkable pear-shaped rose-cut diamond, surrounded by thirteen rose-cut diamonds and smaller senailles, all set on foil to enhance their brilliance. The crowned heart motif, an enduring symbol of love and romance, adds symbolic depth to its intricate design. The setting of the central diamond appears to date from the early 19th century, while the brooch as a whole was created after 1952, likely incorporating antique elements. A true testament to eternal beauty and sentiment.

Style
Victorian - Victorian decorative arts refer to the style of decorative arts from the Victorian era. This period is known for its eclectic revival and reinterpretation of historic styles, as well as for introducing intercultural influences from the Middle East and Asia into furniture, accessories, and interior decoration. Victorian design is widely perceived as having shown a regrettable excess of ornamentation. The Arts and Crafts movement, the Aesthetic movement, the Anglo-Japanese style, and Art Nouveau all have their origins at the end of the Victorian era.

Theme
A stylized crowned heart. The heart has long been used as a symbol to represent the spiritual, emotional, moral, and, in the past, intellectual heart of the human being. As the heart was once considered the seat of the human mind, the word "heart" continues to be used poetically to refer to the soul, and stylized representations of hearts are extremely widespread symbols of love. The rose-cut diamonds are set on foil. This special technique was used to enhance the brilliance of the diamonds.
Additional information
The setting holding the large pear-shaped stone, as well as the stone itself, seem to date from the early 19th century, or even earlier. The brooch as a whole, on the other hand, was made after 1952, probably from older components.
Diamonds
A large pear-shaped rose-cut diamond and thirteen smaller rose-cut and senaille diamonds. A senaille is a simplified rose-cut diamond, a small diamond chip sometimes with a few polished facets. We do not have the weight of the rose-cut diamonds or the senailles, unlike what is usual in our trade.
- All diamonds, regardless of their size or shape, in our vintage and antique jewelry are verified as 100% natural by the IJGC laboratory.
- We do not sell synthetic (lab-grown) diamonds.
