Jaeger-LeCoultre Power Reserve “40h” – 18-carat gold – Caliber 481 Bumper – Circa 1953.
Rare 1950s Jaeger-LeCoultre automatic, equipped with the 481 bumper caliber (“bumper”), an evolution of the brand’s first automatic movement maison. This model stands out for its power reserve indicator at 12 o’clock, a complication that was then almost exclusive to dashboard chronometers.
18K (750) yellow gold case, 33 mm, original silver dial, unrestored, showing a characteristic even patina. Gilt dauphine hands, applied indexes, new domed plexiglass crystal. ABP Concept, Paris burgundy lizard leather strap, custom made for fixed lugs. The 481 movement, 17 jewels, 18,000 A/h, offers a power reserve of about 40 hours and a bidirectional automatic winding typical of pre-rotor architectures. One of the most interesting technical achievements of the manufacture in the early 1950s.
