Splendid vintage circular pendant in solid 18-carat yellow gold (750 thousandths), stamped with an eagle's head guarantee hallmark and the master goldsmith's lozenge hallmark "AXC". French workmanship from the 1960s, workshop creation for maison Cartier. Not branded jewelry.
The pendant represents the zodiac astrological sign Taurus (April 21 - May 20). The animal's body is in finely textured gold covered with a deep golden-colored enamel. The border is in translucent red plique-à-jour enamel. No engraving on the reverse.

- Condition: Very good, with light micro-scratches on the gold parts. The enamel is complete and in very good condition, which is particularly rare. This is a jewel for men or women.
This extraordinary zodiac pendant, colorful and luminous, is an authentic collector's jewel.
NB: I have catalogued a pendant from the same zodiac series bearing the signature "Cartier" engraved on the back and featuring the same AXC master goldsmith's hallmark (probably the Adrien Chobillon workshop in Paris). Note that this model was also made by Maison Arthus Bertrand, but in that case, it is stamped with the AB Master hallmark of that jeweler.
