This brooch in platinum from the 1950s is set with a natural blue zircon, also called starlite, of approximately 7.70 carats. The round zircon is set in an octagonal collet and flanked by stepped shoulders set with diamonds. Its geometric design, clean lines, and open gallery work are typical of mid-century style, combining structure and a touch of color. Both robust and elegant, it reflects the post-war taste for modern and refined forms.
