Biedermeier-style necklace with garnet, enamel, and natural pearls, 1st half of the 19th century.
The necklace is made of 14-karat 0.550 gold, so-called blown gold (typical of the period, hollow inside to make the elements appear more substantial). The links: Its center section is richly decorated with acanthus leaves and rocaille motifs, partially enameled, and set with eight natural pearls and a faceted dark red garnet weighing 2.00 carats.
Convenient and secure clasp closure with safety chain.
Origin: Western Europe, circa 1840.
Very good condition, with signs of wear and soldering visible in the photo.
