Antique pearls gold earrings
Here we have an important pair of antique earrings from Sicily of the second half of the 19th century full of small natural pearls. They are in the classical girandole (candlestick) style typical of that period. The Top is in mixtilinear profile and down we have three nice drops hanging.
Very elegant and eye-catching. They are light and easy to wear. End of the 19th century from Sicily. 14K yellow Gold (touchstone tested). The goldsmith's hallmark is on the hooks.
They are in perfect condition.
Small natural pearls were fished by the Sicilians in the eastern Mediterranean coasts and also used for jewelry since the Middle Ages.
