Refined elegance: French women's watch Art Deco by Léon Hatot. More than just a watch, this platinum branded Léon Hatot wristwatch is a wearable work of art, a symbol of an era of bold innovation. With its 118 sparkling diamonds and 48 dazzling sapphires arranged with perfect symmetry, it reflects both the glamour of the Roaring Twenties and Hatot’s distinctive watchmaking approach: elegant, modern, and avant-garde. Though his name may have faded into obscurity, he still commands deep respect among connoisseurs. A trusted supplier to houses such as Cartier, Boucheron, and Van Cleef & Arpels, Hatot created for those who knew a wristwatch could be far more than functional: a fusion of decorative brilliance and refined mechanics, still rare today. In very good condition, this piece remains a radiant echo of the era when design, technology, and personal taste came together on the wrist.

Style
An eclectic design style born in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century, the Art Deco flourished from the 1920s and retained its influence until after World War II. Its name only gained popularity after a 1966 exhibition referencing the 1925 International Exhibition of Modern Decorative and Industrial Arts in Paris, the height of this modern and luxurious style. Worn by the leading creators of fashion, interior decoration, and decorative arts, the Art Deco influenced nearly every creative field: from architecture and industrial design to painting, graphic arts, and cinema. At the time, it was considered the embodiment of elegance, glamour, functionality, and modernity.

Style specifics
Abstract motifs and geometric shapes characterize the Art Deco period. This style moves away from the pastel tones and fluid lines of its predecessor, Art Nouveau, and draws inspiration from early 20th-century movements such as Neoclassicism, Constructivism, Cubism, Modernism, and Futurism. Its popularity peaked in Europe during the Roaring Twenties and continued in the United States throughout the 1930s. While many design movements reflect deeper political or philosophical ideas, the Art Deco is above all a celebration of decorative beauty.
