Greek Byzantine Cross in 750 thousandths (18k) Gold.
This cross was made in the 1960s using the ancestral filigree technique.
Filigree is an ancient technique which consists of soldering wires of gold orsilver to form intricate and detailed patterns like gold lace.
It would be the Sumerians who first invented the techniques of watermarking and granulation. The Sumerians are a people living in Mesopotamia (at present-day Iraq) between the 4th and 3rd centuries BC.
