Vintage circular pendant in solid 18-carat yellow gold (750 thousandths), stamped with an eagle's head guarantee hallmark and a lozenge-shaped master goldsmith's hallmark. French work from the 1960s made by a workshop for the maison Cartier. Jewelry not branded.
The pendant is adorned with the stylized bust of a centaur drawing his bow, representing the astrological zodiac sign Sagittarius (November 23 - December 21). The figure is in finely textured gold covered with enamel in three shades of gold, some lighter, some darker. The border is in translucent blue plique-à-jour enamel. No engraving on the reverse.

- Condition: Very good, with micro-scratches on the gold parts. The centaur's enamel is in excellent condition. The border's plique-à-jour enamel is complete with signs of use: scratches, traces of cracks. See detail photos.

NB: I have listed an identical pendant bearing the signature "Cartier" engraved on the back and featuring the master goldsmith's hallmark AXC (probably the Adrien Chobillon workshop in Paris). Note that the same model was also manufactured by maison Arthus Bertrand, but in this case, it is stamped with the AB hallmark of this jeweler.
