Elegant vintage natural Ceylon star sapphire ring crafted in 14k yellow gold (circa 1970s).
Natural star sapphire, approx. 5.30 ct (12.1 x 7.0 x 5.8 mm), medium-dark blue color, slightly included, bright polished. A faint star is visible under a point light source. The color and inclusions are typical of star sapphires from Ceylon (Sri Lanka). There is no evidence of any treatment on the stone.
Situated in an east-west position, star sapphire shines in natural sunlight. The gemstone is securely set with a Florentine finish on the side shoulders. The ring makes a beautiful statement on the hand. The medium sized ring (7.5mm - 0.29 inches) sits comfortably on the finger.
Included is a Guild Laboratories report with an “Estimated New Retail Price for Comparison” – $7,000.00
The ring is in good condition and has been lightly cleaned and polished.
