Large antique single sleeper earring in solid 18-carat rose gold (750 thousandths), stamped with a horse head hallmark used between 1838 and 1919, and a diamond-shaped master goldsmith's mark. Regional French Provençal work from the 19th century. Centered with a natural rectangular step-cut diamond, set with numerous prongs on a foil. The surrounding gold circle is decorated with black enamel and bordered by a finely openwork honeycomb frieze.
Closure system with a hinge, which is inserted from the back of the ear.
