Unique pendant necklace from the Jean & Pierre Bellin workshop depicting a panther with a diamond-paved head, two emeralds in its eyes, and a ruby representing its tongue. The setting is 18-carat yellow gold with onyx. The tail and bail are also diamond-paved. This necklace is estimated to contain approximately 1.95 carats of diamonds.
The Jean & Pierre Bellin workshop, founded in Paris at the beginning of the 20th century, distinguished itself by the creation of artistic and refined jewelry. Taken over in 1962 by brothers Jean and Pierre Bellin, the workshop moved to 62 rue La Fayette, where their sister Pierrette joined them, followed by Philippe, representing the next generation. Specializing in the creation of unique pieces, they worked both for themselves and for several Maisons on Place Vendôme.
Their distinctive style combines yellow gold with materials such as coral, ebony, or onyx, often enhanced with diamonds. Creations from the 1970s are characterized by bold, sculptural shapes, reflecting the vibrant aesthetic of the era. These highly sought-after pieces have become emblematic of French boutique jewelry and are particularly sought after in international collections.
