Magnificent antique double-sided circular pendant medal in solid silver, boar's head guarantee hallmark. French workmanship from the early 20th century, branded by the engraver TAIRAC. It is very finely and richly engraved with beautiful relief.
On the obverse, Saint Christopher stands in the middle of a torrent with his staff, carrying the Child Jesus on his left shoulder. An inscription around the edge reads "Look at St Christopher then go on reassured." On the reverse, an automobile in a very detailed rural setting.
For reference, St Christopher is the patron saint of travelers. His name is derived from the Greek words "Krysthos" and "Phoren" which mean "To carry Christ".
