Van Cleef & Arpels Rare Bird Brooch
VVAN CLEEF & ARPELS - Rare Double clip brooch in platinum (950 thousandths) in 18K (750 Thousandths) yellow gold with a "Birdling" motif. The head with chiseled decoration stylizing the plumage, the eye dressed with a small ruby cabochon in closed setting highlighted by three brilliant-cut diamonds calibrating approximately 0.02 carat each. The body composed of a large chrysoprase cut in cabochon. Yellow gold hands. branded Van Cleef & Arpels, numbered. Trace of the Pery et Fils workshop hallmark. Work from the 1960s. Gross weight: 13.2 g. Dimensions: approximately 3.8 x 2 cm. The workshop of Lucien Péry, then Péry Fils, was known from the end of the 19th century. But its real boom began in the 1920s, when Lucien Péry and Albert (his son) met the Arpels brothers. They collaborated on important "signature" pieces of the maison Van Cleef & Arpels.
