The Castellani famous family of goldsmiths of the 19th century in Rome needs no further introduction. They are an emblem of timeless perfection in the world of antique jewelry. Here we present an amazing Gold Bulla with a perfect granulation, wirework and filigree that only Castellani House was able to achieve in the half of the 19th century. For this reason they received important awards at exhibitions in London and Paris. The Bulla opens on a hinge and can be clipped over a chain. (Chain shown here is not included). It has a locket section inside with the famous Castellani maker's monogram (the two opposite C). 18K Gold. Circa 1860. From Rome for the Grand Tour tourists and European exhibitions. A Bulla is a lentil shaped opening pendant used to contain small objects for good luck and protection from evil spirits.
