Charming antique pendant made from a genuine 20 francs gold Napoleon III coin, dated 1867, mounted as a medallion in an ornate setting.
The coin is visible on both sides:
• on the obverse, the laureate profile of Napoleon III with the legend “NAPOLEON III EMPEREUR”,
• on the reverse, the arms of the French Empire surmounted by the imperial crown, surrounded by the legend “EMPIRE FRANÇAIS” and the face value “20 F” with the date 1867.
The round setting highlights the coin with a scalloped/corded edge, creating a beautiful relief effect, with a movable bail allowing the medallion to be worn on a fine or medium chain.
