Rare old brooch in 18 carat 750 thousandths yellow gold, hallmarked owl by the Guarantee Office.
French Victorian work from the end of the 19th century, Napoleon III period, during which jewelry depicting legendary animals was in vogue.
Finely carved with beautiful relief and all the details, it represents a chimera spreading its wings, its mouth open on a pearl. The lower part is decorated with vegetated scrollwork.
