Amethyst ring "Violetta" Napoleon III
In 18k yellow gold, centered with a beautiful faceted oval-cut amethyst weighing approximately 10 cts, set with claws in a basket-shaped basket of smooth gold and braided gold wire crisscrosses. Double rings decorated with two gold pearls supporting the basket.

Amethyst dimensions: 20.3 x 12.5 x 8 mm approximately.
Size: 50 (changeable).
Weight: 7.3 g (18k – 750/1000 – owl hallmark).
Condition: Very nice model from the Second Empire. Amethysts were highly prized stones, going well with the fabrics and outfits of the time. The setting of this ring is very finely made, the braided wire crosspieces nicely adorning the basket. The ring itself is well thought out in order to be consistent with the size of the ring: the opening in two rings avoids a massive appearance.
The ring is in perfect condition. Some micro-scratches from use on the gold and the amethyst. The latter has a pretty, slightly pinkish purple color.
