Rare ring in 18-carat yellow gold and ruby called Leda by Georges Braque (1882-1963), inventor of Cubism.
It is branded "B DE B" for Bijoux de Braque and "H DE L" for Heger de Loewenfeld, jeweler of Bijoux de Braque (Photo 4)
It bears the number LP3031 for the reference of the manufacturing manual and 03, which means it was the 3rd piece of the edition of 8.

This ring comes from the personal collection of Heger de Loewenfeld and is one of the first pieces of Bijoux de Braque, made in the 1960s.
The bird theme is a classic theme of Braque, and the gouache where the figures of "Leda" among other rings of "Bijoux de Braque" is reproduced in photo 6.
"Bijoux de Braque" is a project by the famous French painter Braque, who designed jewelry during the last three years of his life, from 1960 to 1963.
All the objects in this collection are reproductions of major works by Braque, transposed into precious jewelry and sculptures with the help of stone cutter Heger de Loewenfeld. The project led to an exhibition at the Louvre Palace in Paris, from March to May 1963 (Photo 7).
There are about 100 gouaches, listed in the book "Les Métamorphoses de Braque" by Heger de Loewenfeld and Raphael de Cuttoli.
All the subjects are renamed after characters from Greek mythology.
