L'exposition Divins Joyaux : une collection de bijoux historiques

The Divine Jewels exhibition: a collection of historical jewels

In this exhibition organized by the School of Jewelry Arts, the jewels retrace 40 years of passion and collecting by Mr. Kazumi Arikawa, and are structured around the ten thematic chapters of his work "Divine Jewels"From the evocation of sovereigns through cameos and intaglios, to the mystical symbolism of stones, through the art of capturing the ephemeral beauty of nature through tiaras, necklaces and other precious ornaments, each work reflects a facet of this unique artistic quest.

The team 58 Facettes had the chance to visit this very brief exhibition at the Hôtel de Mercy-Argenteau in Paris.

An exhibition of jewelry of exceptional value

Worthy of the greatest museums, this exhibition brings together around twenty jewels whose historical value adds an even more exceptional dimension to the materials and the jeweler's know-how. It offers a small glimpse of a collection of more than 250 pieces, covering periods ranging from theAntiquity to theArt Deco. Each piece of jewelry bears witness to the styles, uses and customs of each of the eras crossed, thus revealing an inestimable wealth of heritage, ranging from jewelry offered as diplomatic gifts to tiaras and ceremonial jewelry.

Among the emblematic pieces of the exhibition are exceptional creations such as the pendant Dancing Nymphs by René Lalique, representative of theArt Nouveau, a ballerina brooch branded Van Cleef & Arpels dating from 1951, as well as a tiara garland style made by Filippo Chiappe for the wedding of Count Raggio around 1909.
