Exposition Parcours mode et design au musée des Arts Décoratifs de Paris

The exhibition not to be missed: Fashion, Jewelry, Design Tour

From April 3 to November 17, 2024, the Musée des Arts Décoratifs is hosting the exhibition "Parcours: Mode, Bijoux, Design", which is presented as a journey through time and trends, where fashion, design and jewelry meet around common themes.

On 9 levels, around thirty haute couture and ready-to-wear creations, a hundred accessories and vintage jewelry which resonate with nearly 400 design and craft objects from the 20th century to the present day.

Designers and prestigious houses come together to talk, and there you will find pieces from Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Christian Dior, Lanvin or Balmain, but also big names in design like Ettore Sottsass, Ron Arad, Philippe Starck and the Campana brothers, a mixture high in creativity and know-how which is offered before our eyes.

On the jewelry side of the exhibition Parcours Mode, Bijoux, Design

Various designer jewelry can be found alongside major jewelry houses, all influenced by the artistic movements of their eras such as the period of theArt Deco, Surrealism, or even Modernism.

From the outset, the jewelry is highlighted with the works of Jean Desprès, an innovative artist from 1920s and 1930s until the 60s, modern era, in the fields of jewelry and goldsmithing, then further on in the last rooms, artists with more diverse materials, such as Albert Duraz or Gilles Jonneman and many others. Thus, jewelers rub shoulders with designers and couturiers in various rooms of the museum, a contextualization of the different creative trends and inspirations that allows us to rediscover the richness of the collections of the Musée des Arts Décoratifs in Paris.
