American Jewelry Brands

The world of American jewelry is characterized by a diversity of styles and tremendous creativity. From historic houses to emerging new brands, American jewelers have successfully blended tradition and modernity to appeal to a global clientele. Here's a look at the iconic brands that have shaped the jewelry industry in the United States.


 

Tiffany & Co.: the New York jewel

Founded in 1837 in New York by Charles Lewis Tiffany and John B. Young, Tiffany & Co. is one of the most iconic brands in the world of jewelry, recognizable among thousands with its colorful cases Tiffany Blue. There Maison has distinguished itself since 1886 with its modern engagement rings entirely made of diamonds, notably with the famous Tiffany Setting, a six-prong setting that highlights the single central stone. Other iconic designs include Return to Tiffany, which appeared in 1980 and is recognizable by its engraved heart, as well Tiffany T with its modern and geometric design inspired by the architecture of New York. Since 2021, it has belonged to the LVMH group, and it continues to innovate while remaining faithful to its heritage, through new artistic creators such as Elsa Peretti, author of organic collections inspired by the human body: Bone Cuff And Diamonds by the Yard, but also other more unexpected collaborations with artists such as Jeans Schlumberger, Paloma Picasso or more recently Pharrell Williams with whom she has worked on several occasions.

 


Harry Winston: The King of Diamonds

Founded in 1932, the maison Harry Winston, famous for his exceptional diamonds and pieces worn by the biggest celebrities on the red carpet, one of the Winstons was one of the first to recognize the power of branding by lending diamond jewelry for red carpet events. Its founder was nicknamed “The King of Diamonds”, having acquired some of the most prestigious stones in the world, such as diamonds Hope, THE Rockefeller, an 18.03-carat Colombian emerald and the Pink Legacy, an 18.96-carat vivid pink diamond, each stone is featured in the Heritage Collections The Incredibles Or Winston Icons. David Yurman : L'Wedding band design and innovation

David Yurman is a contemporary jewelry brand that has established its unique style since its creation in 1980 in New York by David Yurman himself and his wife Sybil. Two years later, he became known for his signature: twisted jewelry. Cable, inspired by art and architecture. His other flagship creations are: X Collection, with a sleek design inspired by a painting by Sybil Yurman; Crossover, symbolic jewelry celebrating connection and harmony with intertwined compositions of gold and diamonds; Sculpted Cable, a modern reinterpretation of the original Cable design. Later, he also entered the world of watchmaking in 2003.


 

John Hardy: handcrafted luxury inspired by nature

Although the brand is heavily influenced by Balinese craftsmanship, John Hardy was founded in the United States in 1975 by artist John Hardy. The brand is renowned for its jewelry made of silver and handmade gold, often inspired by nature and Asian traditions. Its commitment to sustainability and fair trade makes it a benchmark in ethical luxury jewelry. Its iconic collections include: Classic Chain, a gold chain or silver hand-woven using ancestral Balinese techniques; Naga, inspired by the mythical Balinese dragon with patterns of scales and dragon heads; Bamboo, an eco-responsible collection, where for each piece purchased, bamboo is planted in Bali…
