Audemars Piguet renews its 3 iconic models for its 150th anniversary
For the 150th anniversary of the factory, Audemars Piguet unveils new models and enhances the perpetual calendar.
Audemars Piguet, founded in 1875 by Jules-Louis Audemars and Edward-Auguste Piguet, celebrates its 150th anniversary this year; a century and a half of innovation, excellence and watchmaking tradition.
From the creation of Audemars Piguet's first minute repeater pocket watch in 1892, which marked a beginning in watchmaking complications, to the launch of the Royal Oak in 1972, then the Royal Oak Offshore in 1993, or more recently, the Code 11.59 range, the Swiss brand has never ceased to impress with its ability to adapt to the times through ever more exceptional watchmaking creations. It is these 3 iconic models that it has therefore chosen to reinvent for this anniversary year, which we will detail in this article.
To celebrate this 150th anniversary in style, Audemars Piguet has unveiled “The House of Wonders”, a complete experience inviting you to live an immersive and interactive experience at the heart of the watchmaking factory in Le Brassus, allowing you to discover the world of Maison through its history, its values and its creations through temporary and permanent exhibitionsThis space, both experiential and cultural, also highlights artistic collaborations and cultural projects with the primary ambition of showing the completeness of art and watchmaking, a field in which the brand has always played an active role, notably by supporting contemporary artists and cultural initiatives.
This building, designed by the BIG (Bjarke Ingels Group) architecture studio, is a true architectural feat, remarkable for its bold design and its desire to blend harmoniously into the setting of the Vallée de Joux. The House of Wonders plays with the site's natural elements and offers a contemporary interpretation of the brand's historical heritage, while promoting a sustainable approach through the choice of materials and creation methods. An approach that reflects his image: innovative, thoughtful and sustainable.
