Elis Kauppi (1921-2004) founded Kupittaan Kulta Oy in 1945 with Jorma Nurmi and Pekka Kivipuro. Considered one of the pioneers of modern Finnish jewelry design, she was the longtime artistic director and jewelry designer (until 1988) of the company based in Turku, Finland.
