Attention collectors! HERMES has made a series of delightful brooches depicting animals over the last century. The one we present to you here is estimated to be from 1837-1840 and belonged to an elegant woman. Here we have a very beautiful example of the squirrel model, showing the animal resting on its branch. The eye is set with a small ruby. The house's craftsmen managed to give a material effect to the coat by delicately guilloching the metal for a very realistic effect.
This brooch is incredibly modern and will be as elegant on the lapel of a jacket as on a simple dress, give free rein to your imagination!
