Latin cross pendant in solid 18-carat (750 thousandths) pink gold, eagle's head guarantee hallmark. 19th century regional work from the south of France. The cross is decorated with six deep orange natural Mediterranean coral beads measuring 4 mm in diameter. The ends decorated with three small gold pearls.

Very good state. Light micro scratches. On the back, discreet traces of gold oxidation. Note that the round bail is small in diameter (approximately 4.5 mm). Unisex jewelry. It is a lovely old, colorful and protective cross.
Coral jewelry was very popular in France in the 19th century in Provence and the Mediterranean basin and it still is. Coral, considered a lucky charm, was given to children from birth.
