TOP 5 Ocean Inspired Collections

We have mentioned the sea and the ocean as a source of inspiration for jewelry houses. Here are some jewelry houses that have illustrated this theme with magnificent collections.

Chaumet : Waves and wonders - 2022

The collection Waves and wonders captures the movement and fluidity of waves through meticulous jewelry work where the brilliance of diamonds evokes the reflections of light on water. This collection, composed of varied sets, offers a poetic interpretation of the aquatic universe, where each piece illustrates the diversity of marine waters, adorned with sapphires, opals and turquoises, reflecting the infinite nuances of marine waters.
Here are some examples of adornments created by the house Chaumet

  • At Water Level” majestically captures the lapping of a sea caressed by the swell, filled with voids and fullness, where diamonds and white gold palmettes are transformed into sparkling reflections.
  • Gulfstream”, directly inspired by the Gulf Stream (a sea current from Florida that warms the seas it crosses), establishes a contrast between cold and warm colors: a meeting between green and blue, orange and blue.
  • Comète of Seas” makes the stars of the skies and seas converse. For this collection, the house’s gemologists have undertaken an extraordinary collection of fine pearls, whose light gray, mauve and olive shades converse in creations rich in color.

Tiffany & Co: Blue Book - 2023: Out of the blue

Jeans Schlumberger, designer of Tiffany & Co., drew inspiration from marine life to choreograph manifestations of this universe that is both majestic and mysterious. In honor of this heritage, the Blue Book 2023: Out of the Blue collection, imagined by artistic director Nathalie Verdeille, perpetuates and reinvents the aquatic worlds dreamed up by the creator.

Several illustrative pieces of sea anemones, shells, corals, starfish, fish and jellyfish are brought to life, enhanced by the process of "paving" of stones, subtly revealing the texture and details.

The representation of the ocean also involves the use of extraordinary stones: notably on the necklace “Sea urchin” with an imperial topaz weighing over 10 carats, as well astwo other necklaces in the image of “Star of the seas”: the first being set with a sublime green copper-bearing elbaite tourmaline weighing over 22 carats; the second being composed of extremely rare untreated padparadscha sapphires weighing over 24 carats and accompanying diamonds weighing over 42 carats.

Van Cleef & Arpels: Seven Seas - 2015
