2026 Report on Second-Hand Jewelry - Market Trends and Developments

58 FACETTES

Jewelry brands, vintage jewelry, precious stones, metals: the signals that are reshaping the secondary market

Study based on proprietary data from 58 Facettes : analysis of over €45 million of real online transactions and the journey and searches of over 15 million cumulative unique visitors.

Synthesis

8 signals structure 2026

01

Concentration

Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels, Bulgari, Hermès And Pomellato These are the top five houses. Together they account for 25% of the value, compared to 21% in 2025.

02

Cartier

Cartier retains first place with 9% of the value. Its share declines slightly while its share of units increases: the maison expands sales but with a relatively less dominant ticket size.

03

Van Cleef & Arpels

Van Cleef & Arpels uses a model more focused on high jewelry: 7% of the value for 2% of the units, with a median selling time of 36 days.

04

Bulgari

Bulgari offers the clearest convergence among the major houses: value, units, interest, price per gram and sales speed are all moving in the right direction compared to 2025.

05

Top 3 Star Collections

The collections Vintage Alhambra by Van Cleef, Trinity And Love of Cartier they hold nearly 8% of the market share in value.

06

Colored stones

Sapphire, emerald, and ruby together represent 35% of the value, an increase of 4.13 points year-on-year, while their share of units has decreased by 0.25 points. Colored gemstones have thus seen a rise in their prices.

07

Categories

The ring is the most dynamic category: it exceeds half the value and units and simultaneously gains in sales, interest and speed.

08

antique jewelry

L'Art Deco remains the majority in terms of value. Retro and Belle Époque styles are gaining ground, while 1960s styles are declining. In terms of style and taste, jewelry " Link "All gold, the ring" Daisy and the Solitaire "establish themselves as the undisputed champions of the no branded with 45% market share by value.

Reading guide

How to read the indicators

The gross merchandise volume (GMV) is the net amount of goods paid for after price negotiation between buyers and sellers.

The relative ticket compares the value share to the unit share. A value greater than 1 indicates an average value per unit higher than the observed market value.

Interest combines 50% of user searches from 58 Facettes and 50% of that of non-bot arrival sessions on collection pages. Both sources are normalized to the same cohort and the same year before aggregation.

A change in share is expressed in percentage points. It is not sufficient to prove a change in absolute volume.

Pillar 01

Jewelry branded — Leadership is shared without being diluted

Which brands and collections will truly dominate the second-hand jewelry market in 2026?

Houses

The houses: two forms of leadership

Cartier dominates by its scale: the maison brings together the first share of value, the first share of units and almost a third of the attention of the Top 20. Van Cleef & Arpels dominates by intensity of value: its share of GMV is 4.6 times greater than its share of units.

Cartier It retains 8.64% of the value, down 0.59 points, but its share of units gains 0.84 points. Its median selling time decreases from 66.5 days to 38.0 days. The 2026 engine is therefore less about strengthening the very high end than about improving the performance of a broad base.

Van Cleef & Arpels follows the opposite trend: its share of value gains 1.60 points, while its share of units only increases by 0.17 points. The median selling time remains very short at 36.0 days. maison combines relative scarcity, high ticket price and liquidity.

Momentum

What is the maison Which jewelry sector will experience the strongest growth in 2026?

Bulgari is the brand to watch in 2026 as it shows a convergence of positive momentum signals. Its value share, unit share, interest share and selling price per gram are increasing, while its median selling time is more than halved.

Chaumet displays the highest score. Bulgari And Pomellato follow with a simultaneous progression in value, units and interest; Bulgari is distinguished by the strength of the signal on a larger commercial scale. Chopard And Boucheron complete the Top 5, with longer median sales times which invite us to read their acceleration without confusing it with immediate liquidity.

Supply tension

Area of supply tension in the second-hand market: where does interest exceed sales?

The matrix identifies a potential trade mismatch, linked to a strain on the supply available on the second-hand market. Cartier, Van Cleef & Arpels and Boucheron receive a significantly higher share of attention than their share of units sold in the same Top 20.

At the house of Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels, the gap in attention is accompanied by rapid sales and a proportionally smaller available supply: the tension signal is consistent. Boucheron, The median sales period of 157 days suggests another interpretation: attention exists, but price, mix or conversion are more of a hindrance than availability.

Collections

The collections: the icons remain, curiosity expands

Love, Trinity And Vintage Alhambra remain the most visible references. But their attention concentration has declined by 6.27 points in one year: a growing share of attention is shifting towards Serpenti, Santos, Nudo, B.Zero1 And Coco Crush.

Sales speed

Can you sell a piece of jewelry in less than 24 hours on 58 Facettes ?

Yes. The examples below show that in 2025 and 2026 as of this date, several pieces of jewelry branded were sold less than a day after being listed on the platform 58 Facettes. Second-hand goods are therefore not necessarily synonymous with waiting: a sought-after item can find a buyer in a few hours.

Jewelry not branded - L'Art Deco The Retro trend is back!

Which periods and styles appeal to buyers when the signature is no longer the primary point of reference?

Eras

Eras: the undisputed leadership of theArt Deco

L'Art Deco remains the center of gravity of the jewel no branded of the era: it weighs more in value than in units. Its relative decline in 2026 does not reflect a loss of leadership, but a rebalancing towards Retro and Belle Époque.

L'Art Deco It accounts for 51.40% of the value and 47.20% of the units. The Rétro gained 5.16 points and the Belle Époque 2.01 points. The recovery is therefore twofold: the Rétro rose in value, while the Belle Époque advanced primarily in units.

The relative price of Retro exceeds 1.3: its value significantly surpasses its unit weight. Conversely, the Belle Époque remains a more diffuse and, on average, more accessible category. The 1960s have declined sharply on both axes.

Styles

Styles: Why the ring Daisy Is she making progress despite less attention?

Because attention and sales do not focus on the same area. In strictly non-sales branded, the ring Daisy gains more than five value points and becomes the second style. Style signals also include jewelry. branded, Its share of composite interest is declining while remaining first.

At the same time, its share of composite interest in style signals, across all signature statuses, falls from 20.94% to 13.58%. The decline in attention is therefore not translating into a decline in sales: conversion and the sales mix compensate.

The “Geometric” and “Cocktail” styles are also accelerating, representing 6.35% and 4.47% of value respectively. Their median selling times are shorter than that of the Solitaire, This reinforces the interpretation of an active demand for more expressive rings. We can also draw a parallel between the rise of the "geometric" style and the success of the era. Art Deco.

Pillar 03

Precious stones — color increases in value

How are preferences and prices for gem-set jewelry evolving on the secondary market?

Precious stones

Is the diamond still the leading commodity?

Yes. Diamonds still represent more than half the value of the ten main gemstones and nearly half the units. But their share of value is declining more than their share of units: the relative price is tightening.

Sapphire, emerald, and ruby together gain 4.13 points in value share, but their unit share varies by only -0.25 points. This divergence signals an increase in the relative ticket price, not a massive diffusion of colored gemstones.

Emerald remains the most over-indexed colored gemstone in terms of interest: its share of attention exceeds its share of units sold. Sapphire has a broader commercial base. Ruby is experiencing strong growth in value.

Price per carat

How does the price of jewelry change per carat of stone?

Since 2023, rubies and sapphires have been on an upward trajectory. Diamonds and emeralds have been declining. This comparison does not measure a standardized price for the stone: it relates the price of the entire piece of jewelry to the weight of its focal stone and remains sensitive to quality, brand, and design.

Figure 9 — Evolution of the average price of jewelry per carat, base 100 in 2023.

Ruby €2,043.96/ct +42,0 % +32,3 %
Emerald €1,447.38/ct -12,6 % -23,8 %

These values do not constitute a price for bare stone.

The ruby reached an average price of €2,043.96/carat, registering a very strong increase in just one year: +42%. The selling price per carat of sapphire increased less sharply but more steadily: +10% over 3 years. The emerald fell to €1,447.38/carat. The audit shows that this decline stems from a sales mix less concentrated in very high-end pieces, and not from a real deterioration in prices. In this instance, we observe that the price of very high-quality emeralds can actually exceed the price per carat of sapphires and rubies in transactions carried out on 58 Facettes.

Which jewelry pieces are gaining increasing market share, and are they made of which metals?

Categories

Which categories are actually gaining ground?

Rings are the only category that has seen significant growth in value, units, and interest. Earrings have seen more modest increases. Bracelets have declined across all three indicators and have the lowest Momentum Score.

The ring accounted for 52.82% of the value and 54.32% of the units. Its average delivery time decreased by 16.2 days. Earrings gained 1.13 percentage points in units, with a faster turnover rate as well.

The bracelet lost 2.51 points in value, 1.01 points in units, and 1.07 points in interest. The decline is convergent, not solely due to price.

Metals

Is yellow gold really making a comeback in popularity?

It is gaining in value, but not in distribution. Its share of sales volume is increasing while its share of units is decreasing. The conclusion, therefore, is an increase in the relative price point or a mix of higher-value coins, not a generalization of yellow gold to a greater sales volume.

The market observed by 58 Facettes becomes more legible through three movements: Cartier and Van Cleef & Arpels retain their leading status, but other signings such as Bulgari, Pomellato And Chaumet accelerate sharply; the pivotal era of antique jewelry remainsArt Deco with signs of revivals of Retro and Belle Epoque styles; the diamond remains the number 1 precious stone but is losing value, conversely, the value of sapphires and rubies is increasing while the emerald can reach very high prices when it meets all the quality criteria.

Concrete benchmarks for resale value

The signature alone is not enough: the collection, the variant, the metal, the condition, the weight and the presence of stones of more or less good quality explain a large part of the differences.

Speed of sale reinforces a desirability signal. In 2026, Van Cleef & Arpels and Cartier display the shortest median sales times among major brands, at 36 and 38 days respectively.

For gemstones, the price per carat published here is the price of the entire piece of jewelry divided by the carat weight of the main stone. It is used to compare sales mixes, not to appraise and evaluate a single stone.

  9. 09

Gold gains in value while declining in units; the platinum, He is progressing on both fronts.

  10. 10

Cancelled or refunded orders that no longer show a paid status are not included. Source amounts are in euros; no currency conversion is applied to these outputs.

Units and shares

Price per gram

For 2026, the two sources observed over 228 days are linearly annualized by 365/228. The composite indicator begins in 2023, due to a lack of research in 2022. Number of days between the product's publication on the platform 58 Facettes and its first paid sale. Inconsistent dates or insufficient links are excluded. The median is used except for the category table, which retains the mean of the source calculation.

Momentum Score

For houses, collections, categories, and styles by category, the average of five directional components is calculated: change in share of business volume, change in share of units, change in the selling price per gram, change in share of interest, and relative improvement in time to sell. The source score for periods omits price. The score for gemstones omits time and replaces the price per gram with the average price cleaned per carat; topaz also omits this price component and is therefore based on three components. Each change is transformed by a robust function centered on 50. An internal coverage rule applies, and at least four components must be available, except for the topaz exception described above. Reading thresholds: 65, 55, 45, and 35. The score measures relative dynamics, not absolute power or a forecast.

Price per carat

The net price paid for the entire piece of jewelry is divided by the carat weight of its focal stone. Only rings and pendants with a main stone strictly greater than 1 carat are included. Synthetic, pavé, aggregated, plural, co-focal, contradictory, or implausible cases are excluded. The mean and median of the individual ratios are weighted by the amount paid.

Jewelry not branded

The set of jewelry on which no standardized signature has been identified; this is the best reproducible perimeter available, not a physical expertise of the hallmark.

Boundaries

The results describe the activity observed by 58 Facettes, Not the entire market. Shares may vary depending on the mix of sellers, products, and quality. The available supply is a snapshot. The charts do not disclose any confidential figures and are not intended to measure investment return.
