Messika rejoint le Comité Colbert

Messika joins the Colbert Committee

This year, the Colbert committee welcomes a new Maison : Messika. In the jewelry sector, we already found: Lorenz Baümer, Boucheron, Cartier, Chanel, Hermes, Mellerio and Van Cleef & Arpels.

What is the Colbert Committee?

Created in 1954 on the initiative of Jean-Jacques Guerlain, the Colbert Committee is a unique collective, bringing together many exceptional know-how linked to luxury (14 professions): Wines & Spirits, Cosmetics and Perfumes, Fashion and Leather Goods, Jewelry and Watches, Goldsmithing, Gastronomy, Music, Design and Decoration are represented through 96 Houses, 18 cultural institutions and 6 European members.

Their motto? Passionately promote, sustainably develop, patiently transmit, French know-how and creation to inspire dreams. Their actions aim to contribute to the international influence of the French art of living, to the preservation of know-how and creation and to their transmission to new generations.

The story of Messika

Created in 2005, driven by the vision of its founder Valérie Messika, daughter of the renowned diamond merchant André Messika, it develops creations that reflect an emancipated modernity and offers a breath of fresh air in the world of jewelry. It is also one of the rare houses founded by a woman and whose creation is still carried by its creator.

The slogan of the Maison perfectly illustrates the spirit: “Disrupting Diamonds since 2005” which reflects its desire to revolutionize the world of traditional jewelry by offering contemporary and bold designs like the mobile jewels of the iconic collection Move, a stylistic signature, which is now reflected in numerous collections and more than 270 models.

There Maison also filed his signature setting: the Messika setting, inspired by lightness, movement and purity. In the service of light, gold is discreet and gives pride of place to diamonds, glued together in ultra-light, tapered, delicate, tactile and ergonomic compositions, which highlight the women's body.

Messika is also socially engaged; since 2024, it has offered a collection called MESSIKA CARE(s), where for each piece of jewelry purchased, part of the profits is donated via the Valérie Messika Foundation to Plan International associations and NGOs working in favor of international solidarity, childhood in the areas of education, health and equal rights for girls and boys.

The added value of Messika

Today, the Maison is established in more than 85 countries, with more than 600 points of sale spread across all continents, including 90 eponymous boutiques. Globally, it has approximately 450 employees, including subsidiaries in China, Hong Kong, the Middle East, the United States and Japan.

Messika's identity is also expressed through faces other than Valérie Messika, with whom it associates itself, its muses, in particular: Kendall Jenner and Walton Mason in a 2023 advertising campaign, but also Gigi Hadid, Taylor Hill and Kate Moss. On social networks, the brand is present around the neck and wrist of multiple celebrities such as Beyoncé, Rihanna, Carla Bruni, Adèle, Katy Perry, Kim Kardashian, Nina Dobrev, Camille Razat, Kelly Rutheford, Cardi B, Selena Gomez, Margot Robbie... female faces from different generations who inspire the whole world.

In less than 20 years, Messika, a French, family-run and independent company, has managed to position itself among the biggest brands in jewelry and fine jewelry. The secret of its success lies in an uninhibited and innovative approach to jewelry combined with exceptional know-how. According to Valérie Messika, she felt the need to offer a different, freer and more expressive style of jewelry; in keeping with the times, as she summed it up in a few words: “OUR Maison is proud and happy to join the Comité Colbert, which is the voice of French expertise and excellence. It is an honor to be able to contribute my stone to its edifice. Our innovation coupled with our jewelry expertise is part of the values that contribute to the influence of our country.
