The jewelers of Place Vendôme
Place Vendôme, located in the heart of Paris, is a universal symbol of luxury, elegance and know-how. For centuries, it has been the headquarters of the greatest jewelry houses, where each, through its history and signature collections, contributes to the fame of this square, which embodies a dream come true for jewelry lovers around the world.
Initially, the jewelers invested in the rue de la Paix, adjacent to the place Vendôme, notably the house Mellerio said Meller, which settled there in 1815. Today, when we talk about the jewelers of Place Vendôme, we immediately think of the big names in jewelry such as Cartier Or Mauboussin, for example, and yet they do not all appear on the square as such!
The first jeweler to truly set up shop on the square was Frédéric Boucheron in 1893, wanting to leave the Palais-Royal district to move closer to the recently built Opéra Garnier.
