St Edward's Crown is a very precious and sacred piece of jewellery, made of solid gold and set with 444 precious stones. It weighs over 2.2 kg and was created in 1661. Charles will only wear this crown once in his life. After that, it will be kept safe in the Tower of London until the next sovereign. When leaving Westminster, Charles wears the Imperial State Crown which contains the Cullinan II Diamond. It is expected that he will wear this crown every year at the State Opening of Parliament.

The Dove Sceptre, this royal staff is made of gold and enamel and is placed in the left hand of the sovereign. It features a dove with outstretched wings, which symbolises the Holy Spirit and reminds the king of his duties in matters of fairness and mercy. The sceptre, meanwhile, is surmounted by a cross and set with the largest diamond in the world, the Cullinan I, which weighs 530 carats. It is slipped into the sovereign's right hand as a sign of authority and good governance. The gold ball located on the sceptre is an object that evokes the earth divided into three continents by bands of precious stones. This sphere is surmounted by a cross placed on an amethyst.
