Very popular and prized today, the ring Daisy is a jewelry creation that has an interesting history. According to legend, it was inspired by Madame de Pompadour, a bourgeois woman who captivated King Louis XV. The latter offered him an estate and a ring in the shape of a flower decorated with a sapphire central and diamonds. This ring became famous under the name "ring Daisy". Madame de Pompadour particularly loved the flower gardens of her estate, a source of inspiration for this ring. “Pompadour ring” or “ring Daisy” are very similar names.
A ring for royalty
There engagement ring of Kate Middleton, a ring Daisy famous, brought this classic form of jewelry up to date. This white gold ring, created by Crown Jeweler Garrard, features a magnificent 18-carat oval sapphire and a surround of 14 white diamonds. It was given to Kate by Prince William for their engagement. It was originally given by Prince Charles to Lady Diana. After Lady's death Diana, her children agreed that the first to marry would inherit the ring. This ring would have cost around 30,000 British pounds when it was created and would be worth around 10 times that today.
