A look at the Year of the Cat: our most beautiful felines
L'Year of the Rabbit is celebrated in China, and for the Vietnamese community, it is the Year of the Cat. Indeed, the Vietnamese and the Chinese share 10 of the 12 signs of the zodiac calendar but a difference is created between the two, the Vietnamese honor the cat and not the rabbit.

Why is the cat more popular with the Vietnamese? The answer is probably in the rice fields dear to the country's farmers, because, with the threat of many rats in the rice fields, cats, being able to hunt them, are therefore a popular animal for the Vietnamese. Another explanation exists is that the Vietnamese do not want to observe two years with a similar animal. However, for them, the sign of the mouse and the rabbit are closely linked.
Another theory is that it could come from a mistranslation of the Chinese word "mao" which means rabbit. In Vietnamese, it sounds like "meo", which means cat. The year of the cat brings good luck and guarantees a smooth life. Regardless of the choice between cat and rabbit, animals have always had a particular appeal for jewelry brands and designers, and among our bestiary, felines have a special place.
