18th century diamond bracelet with 2,000 year old intaglios.
Condition: excellent condition, especially considering its age (one of the intaglios has a chip on the back, not visible from above)
Style: Neo Classical (somewhere between Louis XVI and Empire)
Period: The bracelet itself was made around 1790.
Material: 14K two-tone yellow and red gold (touchstone tested). The diamonds are set on silver (tested with the touchstone).
Technique: Intaglio - An intaglio or engraved gem is a gem that has been carved, in the Western tradition, normally with images or inscriptions on one side only.
Diamond(s): 71 old brilliant-cut diamonds with an estimated weight of more or less 2.50 ct. (color and purity: F/K, vs/i).
The type of diamond cut here (old mine cut) is considered very rare for 18th century jewelry.
