L'histoire de la maison de joaillerie et horlogerie italienne Buccellati

Buccellati, Italian excellence

From Milan to the international, Maison Buccellati excels in its goldsmith work in a very recognizable style. The brand combines ancient techniques and inspirations with contemporary and innovative collections.

The story of Buccellati

Bucciarati is an Italian jewelry and watchmaking house, founded after the end of the First World War, in 1919 in Milan by Mario Buccellati. The brand quickly became a symbol of Italian excellence in the field of high jewelry thanks to Mario Buccellati, nicknamed "the Prince of Goldsmiths", famous for his unique artistic approach, combining ancient techniques with a contemporary vision.

Buccellati, when jewelry becomes a goldsmith's work

Buccellati’s heritage is based on its broad knowledge of artisanal techniques, including rigato (grooving), telato (cloth effect), and modellato (sculpture), engraving and gold weaving, which are signature elements of the brand. These techniques lend texture, movement and depth to the pieces in silver and gold, finely worked with lace, tulle and honeycomb patterns. These methods, passed down from generation to generation, are at the heart of each creation and are the result of hundreds of hours of meticulous work and great attention to detail, recognized throughout the world.

Buccellati, from Italy to the International

While Buccellati began its journey in Milan, the house has since expanded far beyond Italy's borders. Today, Buccellati is a world-renowned brand, with boutiques in major fashion capitals including Paris, New York, Tokyo, Chicago, London and Shanghai.
In 2008, the Moscow Kremlin Museums dedicated the major anthological exhibition “Buccellati, Arte senza Tempo” to the House, presenting the most emblematic works of the three creative generations of Buccellati: Mario, Gianmaria and Andrea.
Then, in 2019, the house created a Buccellati-cut diamond in thesecond-hand of its centenary. At the same time, it was also bought by the Richemont group, thus having more financial resources as well as a more than growing visibility, which marks the beginning of a new era.

Buccellati’s iconic collections:

Although it has expanded internationally, the house continues to innovate while remaining faithful to its roots and its iconic collections to which it owes its success. Today, it offers modern collections that draw inspiration from this heritage:

Starry Collection, 1990 : four yellow gold chains intertwine to produce a play of spaces, inside which small lilies set with diamonds bloom, jewels very popular in their version bracelet.

Opera Collection, 2015 : jewelry with half-floral, half-baroque motifs inspired by the House logo and architectural motifs from the Italian Renaissance.
