How to take care of your pearls?

The timeless beauty of pearls: discover the secrets of cleaning and storing to preserve their shine!

The care routine

THE beads, as organic gems, are sensitive to acidic, alkaline environments and extreme humidity. To preserve their shine, it is recommended to avoid contact with cosmetic products, hairspray or perfume. It is best to put your jewelry after finishing your makeup and hair.

Additionally, sweating can damage the luster of pearls. It is advisable to gently wipe them with a soft cloth before storing them in your jewelry box.

The interview

No matter how much attention you pay to your jewelry, it is recommended to meticulously check the prongs that hold the stones, the clasps of the necklaces, of the bracelets and earrings, as well as pins before putting them on. If the thread holding the beads were to become slack, it could suddenly break. Whether you wear your jewelry every day or occasionally, it is advisable to have your cultured pearl necklace re-threaded every year.

Cleaning

It is not recommended to use ultrasonic cleaning, as this may damage the pearls.

Tidying up

The beads are extremely strong and impact resistant, but they can be scratched by contact with sharp objects or other stones. To avoid scratches and tangling, it is recommended to close the clasps and store the beads separately in a compartmentalized jewelry box. When transporting, use a protective pouch for your parts.

Leaving your jewelry in a safe for long periods of time can cause the pearls to dehydrate.
